Indian para-badminton sensation Nithya Sre added another feather to her cap by securing a bronze medal in the women’s SH6 singles event at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
The 19-year-old showcased her exceptional skills and determination to defeat Indonesia’s Rina Marlina, a former world champion, by a convincing margin of 21-14, 21-6.
Nithya Sre, who was the top seed in the tournament, dominated the match from start to finish, leaving no doubt about her superiority.
This bronze medal marks a significant milestone in her young career, coming on the heels of a mixed doubles bronze medal loss with partner Solaimalai Sivarajan.
The SH6 category is for athletes with short stature, and Sre’s victory is a testament to her unwavering spirit and dedication to the sport.
