Manish Narwal Wins Silver at Paris Paralympics

Indian shooting sensation Manish Narwal added another feather to his cap by securing a silver medal in the Men’s 10m Air Pistol SH1 event at the Paris Paralympics 2024.

This achievement marked a significant milestone for Narwal, who had previously clinched a gold medal in the 50m pistol event at the Tokyo Paralympics.

Narwal’s journey to the silver medal was marked by intense competition. Despite maintaining a strong lead for a considerable portion of the final, Manish Narwal was ultimately overtaken by South Korea’s Jo Jeongdu, who claimed the gold. However, Narwal’s performance was nothing short of exceptional, showcasing his skill, precision, and unwavering determination.

This silver medal not only added to India’s growing medal tally at the Paris Paralympics but also further solidified Narwal’s reputation as one of the leading figures in Indian Paralympic shooting. His consistent performance at the highest level of competition is a testament to his dedication, talent, and unwavering commitment to his sport.

Narwal’s achievement was particularly significant given India’s strong showing at the Paralympics. Avani Lekhara had already made a golden start, clinching a second-successive top podium in the 10m air rifle event. Mona Agarwal also secured a bronze medal in the same event, ensuring a double podium for the Indian contingent. Additionally, Preethi Pal had made history by winning India’s first track medal at the Paralympics: a bronze in the women’s 100m T35 event.
