Dabang Delhi Pull Off Incredible Comeback

In a match that had the crowd on the edge of their seats, Dabang Delhi T.T.C. staged a remarkable comeback to defeat the table-topping PBG Bengaluru Smashers 8-7 in the Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) 2024.

The Delhi-based team’s victory was a testament to their resilience and determination, as they overcame a 7-2 deficit to secure a hard-fought win. The match played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai, showcased the high level of competition and skill in the UTT league.

PBG Bengaluru Smashers started strong, with Alvaro Robles and Lily Zhang winning their respective singles matches. However, the momentum shifted in favour of Dabang Delhi T.T.C. after a crucial mixed doubles victory by Orawan Paranang and G Sathiyan over the star pair of Manika Batra and Alvaro Robles. Sathiyan continued his impressive form, defeating Jeet Chandra in straight sets to bring his team back into contention.

The match reached its climax in the final women’s singles encounter between Diya Chitale and Manika Batra. Chitale produced a stunning performance, outplaying the experienced Batra to secure a 3-0 victory and seal the deal for Dabang Delhi T.T.C.

Despite the loss, PBG Bengaluru Smashers remain at the top of the UTT standings with 48 points. Dabang Delhi T.T.C. moved up to the second position with 41 points. The league stage is nearing its conclusion, and the upcoming semi-finals promise to be a thrilling spectacle.
