AIFF Unveils Ambitious Plan to Elevate I-League

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has outlined a comprehensive strategy to significantly enhance the production quality and overall appeal of the I-League. With a focus on improving the fan experience and boosting the league’s competitiveness, the AIFF aims to elevate the I-League to new heights.

A cornerstone of the plan is a substantial investment in broadcast technology. Participating clubs will receive up to eight high-definition cameras per match, ensuring a visually stunning viewing experience for fans. Additionally, the AIFF will prioritize club preferences when creating the league fixture, fostering a more competitive and engaging atmosphere.

To qualify for these enhanced benefits, clubs must meet specific infrastructure standards. Task forces comprising club representatives have been established to address key areas such as marketing, promotion, broadcast, fixtures, and refereeing. The AIFF is particularly focused on securing prime-time slots for I-League matches and prioritizing venues that meet stringent infrastructure requirements, including international-standard pitch quality and 1800 lux floodlights.

While clubs unable to meet the full infrastructure criteria will still receive broadcast support, albeit with fewer cameras, the AIFF’s commitment to quality production remains unwavering. The federation has pledged to collaborate closely with stakeholders to implement a robust marketing and promotional campaign, refine the fixture schedule, and improve refereeing standards.

By implementing these far-reaching initiatives, the AIFF aims to transform the I-League into a more compelling and professionally run league, capturing the hearts of fans and attracting greater attention to Indian football.
